Sharon’s Story
By: Leah Sanderson

Sharon Achieng is a seventh grader at Hope Academy. It could be said, without exaggeration, that Hope Academy has saved her life. One of six children, she is the oldest girl in the home and has been given the responsibility of helping to rear her younger sister who has epilepsy. She is the first one in her family to attend school and her teachers say she is a very bright student. As she started school last semester, Sharon walked to school in a weakened state and passed out in her classroom due to lack of proper nutrition. Though she recovered fully, her mother Beatrice, made it a point to tell us that she believes Hope Academy saved her daughter’s life. Please pray for this precious 14 year old and the many like her who need our help.
